About imin
Even before the pandemic, the state of global mental health was declining at a rapid pace. We're social beings, but many people still have trouble socializing and building lasting and meaningful relationships; many suffer from loneliness almost daily.
We also suffered from the same issues one way or another. The idea of imin is not new; we've had this idea for more than a decade but finally got frustrated with the lack of an innovative solution. We were hoping maybe popular social networks would change and start addressing these global issues. But not only did that not happen, but they even worsened the situation. As a result, we decided to take action and give birth to imin. We wanted to build something that we would use ourselves. A platform with a single goal, to improve mental health.
Living in another country all by myself was a challenging experience. Even though my English was ok, I still had trouble finding the people I could connect with. I wish imin were available back then; it would have made my life much easier.
-Sara MalekiI studied abroad for four years. I cannot express how difficult and miserable the first years were. It took me three years to find a group of friends I could rely on and have fun with. I wish there were a way I could find those friends much earlier.
-Nina RodriguezAs a freelancer, I used to travel a lot. I loved this because I love to see the world and connect to different people from various cultures. Pandemic completely changed my life, probably for the foreseeable future. Nowadays, companies prefer their employees to work remotely and are less likely to pay for relocation or travel costs. When I first heard about imin, I was excited. It seemed like a perfect way for me to find exciting new people around me.
